Enjoy Florida's natural beauty as you float along on this 4 to 5 hour trip down
the scenic Suwannee river that takes you from Fanning Springs State Park to
Manatee Springs State Park . With an average current between 2.5 and 3 miles
per hour , you can point your canoe or kayak in the right direction , get out
the camera and enjoy some of Florida's finest scenery as you are treated to a
variety of native plants and animals along the way. If you are lucky and quick
enough with your camera, during the summer months you just might be able
to catch a once in a life time photo of a Great Sturgeon as they hurl their 100
lb + body completely out of the water in an areal show that still amazes us at
the Parks no matter how many times we get to see that 6 to 10 foot long body
flying through the air. In addition to  Sturgeon, Manatees are a frequent visitor
to this route during the cooler months  as they head in from the Gulf for
warmer waters and a winter home. Traveling between Manatee and Fanning
Springs  , the Manatees are a daily sight during the winter, so you want to
have plenty of film on hand . Trip  includes shuttle service and Canoe
or Kayak . Cost is $ 24.95 per person . If you have your own equipment ,
shuttle service is $ 14.95 per person . Contact the camp store for shuttle times.

cypress trees and native plants be sure to keep your eyes open for that one
