| Enjoy Florida's natural beauty as you float along on this 4 to 5 hour trip down the scenic Suwannee river that takes you from Fanning Springs to Manatee Springs. With an average current between 2.5 and 3 miles per hour , you can point your canoe or kayak in the right direction , get out the camera and enjoy some of Florida's finest scenery as you are treated to a variety of native plants and animals along the way. If you are lucky and quick enough with your camera, during the summer months you just might be able to catch a once in a life time photo of a Great Sturgeon as they hurl their 100 lb + body completely out of the water in an areal show that still amazes us no matter how many times we get to see that 6 to 10 foot long body flying through the air. In addition to Sturgeon, Manatees are a frequent visitor to this route during the cooler months as they head in from the Gulf for warmer waters and a winter home. Departing from Fanning Springs , take the shuttle to Hart Springs where you will start your trip down the river that will wind you through some of our untouched natural resources along the great river. After you arrive in Fanning Springs, enjoy a dip in the 1st magnitude spring and walk the boardwalk to see how many of the little springs you can find. Starting your tour at Log Landing , you will have about a 3 to 4 hour trip before arriving at Hart Springs where you can snorkel around the boil and explore the all natural Spring. From Hart Springs , you will continue down the river to The City of Hawkinsville for another great snorkel site where you can explore the 141' paddle wheeler thats laying on the bottom in great condition .Your final stop on the trip will be at Fanning Springs for another great snorkeling adventure.
